What is a PERT?
A Performance Enhancement and Response Team (PERT) is intended to help network users get optimal performance from networked applications. Typically the user will contact a PERT directly or through standard IT support channels if their applications are not working as well as they normally do (for example over low throughput, slow response times for interactive applications, or degradation).
To diagnose problems a PERT considers the complete end-to-end path, so one of the main functions of a PERT is to question end-users, system administrators, and network operators who have systems on that path.
